It's still on the shelf because people can't afford to buy them.

[–] marcos@lemmy.world 43 points 1 month ago (1 children)

Yeah, that's very clearly the joke.

[–] nocturne@slrpnk.net 88 points 1 month ago (1 children)

I thought the joke was no one is buying it because of all the food that is causing parasitic diarrhea.

I wish I had diarrhea that would mean I ate something

[–] anugeshtu@lemmy.world 3 points 1 month ago

Well, let them eat cake!

This reminds me of that time when Fox news tried to say that poor people don't have it bad because 82% of them have a microwave.

Turns out if you're a conservative shitbag you can just say stuff and for some reason you're neither shunned from society nor beaten and left for dead!

A MAGA uncle once told me I was a "whiny unamerican wimp" for complaining about income inequality when he's I had a television.

Ah, yes, because it's 1953, and a television costs a years salary, I forgot.

This dude was born in the fucking 70s.

Nah, there is a segment of the American right that truly believes that the poor should live like a Gilded Age beggar. You own nothing, you sleep in a box, and maybe, if you're lucky, the soup kitchen will have some bread that's not moldy. I had a coworker tell me I couldn't be poor because I wasn't homeless, because "only homeless people are really poor".

Meanwhile, vandwellers are out there counting up the cash they aren't spending on rent.

It's a shame there's a significant stigma to that lifestyle. The last time I was homeless, I was ready to go that route and save up the money I would've spent on rent. However, my girlfriend was terrified of the idea. She found me the place I'm staying in now, which I'm glad for; but the last time my bank account was this low, I was only working part-time. Rent is like a money-vacuum.

Because being a shitbag is the default and expected mode of operation for them. They betray no expectations and break no promises, the system is working as intended.

larenmcjesse is a famous shitposter.

[–] DarrinBrunner@lemmy.world 23 points 1 month ago

It's shocking how many shitposters support Trump.

Oh, wait...

[–] ceenote@lemmy.world 16 points 1 month ago

So it IS diarrhea.

[–] Gullible@sh.itjust.works 0 points 1 month ago

I love myself so fucking much for not knowing who they are and already forgetting them.

[–] mrmaplebar@fedia.io 31 points 1 month ago (1 children)

Can't afford meat and veggies will give you diarrhea. America is finally great again.

[–] captainlezbian@lemmy.world 4 points 1 month ago

We're working hard to beat the fat stereotype

[–] Bahnd@lemmy.world 28 points 1 month ago (3 children)

Given how this whole thing could have been much smaller if doge/47/elon had not dismantled the FDAs monitoring programs, Ive taken to calling this "butt covid" and its their fault.

[–] mrmisses@lemmy.world 22 points 1 month ago

I believe the scientific title is trumperrhea

[–] Mirshe@lemmy.world 6 points 1 month ago

Not just that, red states have also, side-by-side with the feds, dismantled their own oversight and public safety. This used to be the sort of thing your local Health Department could and would catch and deal with alongside federal HHS, but 40 years of ripping THAT copper out of the walls too means the whole thing folds in on itself when something happens.

[–] AmyAye@nord.pub 6 points 1 month ago

Butt covid, you hated those "face diapers", now try "real diapers!"

[–] MrSelfDestruct@piefed.zip 18 points 1 month ago

Trumperrheah

[–] ThePantser@sh.itjust.works 17 points 1 month ago (2 children)

This feels like a N Korea post, look at all the glorious food our people have!

[–] Dpek@lemmy.zip 12 points 1 month ago

You can tell its not like russian propaganda because nowhere is a warm water port mentioned

[–] Imgonnatrythis@sh.itjust.works 4 points 1 month ago

We are learning from the best!

[–] GutterRat42@lemmy.world 11 points 1 month ago (2 children)

Wait, is the fact that produce is not selling a good thing?

[–] charokol@lemmy.world 16 points 1 month ago

The fact that OOP used the word “untouched“ makes me think this was a shitpost

[–] zalgotext@sh.itjust.works 5 points 1 month ago

They'll spin it as one of "produce is so abundant and cheap here it's overflowing the shelves" or "the produce is selling so fast they have to constantly restock the shelves to overflowing"
