"Verbally shipped 3 updates"

=> telling the thing to upload said update instead of clicking it.

Wow very impressive.

As we all know, typing speed has always been the main bottleneck in programming.

Three major releases in a day sounds like they have one release and two major bug fixes that day

I have a 6 year old mic that doesn't pick up noise beyond about two inches from it. No need for this mask, this shit is for dumbasses trying to feel smart.

Pair it with a VR headset instead of a screen and you're almost at peak obedient worker drone. Just gotta wait for Elons brain-computer interface to dole out reward and punishment directly to your brain.

Hey, if you mount a few spiked studs, some LEDs, and a couple biohazard stickers on this sucker you got yourself a solid rave mask.

That "grindset & hustle" subculture can come to the point of selling burnout as virtue

I guess if you wear one of these you are probably expected to speak to the AI so much that you won't have the time to think about how ridiculous your job is and how insane you look.

Why does it seem like the goal of all this AI crap is "a computer for the illiterate"? For people who can't type. Who want to speak without being heard. Huge market for this.

When I was younger I wanted this so I could type or write by dictation while walking, cause with ADHD thats the only time my brain works is when I'm moving, so I wanted to be able to do stuff and type or write while moving

And we built it, but now its for ai... 😅 weird timeline

I need a dedup that uses hash, no wait fuzzy logic, no wait fuzzy logic and hash and make the icons all look like giant dongs.

That ad-copy... The producers of an infomercial would have told them to tone it down.

I'm optimizing to stay as far away from this as I can, it just sounds like parody now, or since it's linkedin I guess a parody of a parody

[–] umbraroze@slrpnk.net 10 points 1 month ago (6 children)

As an ESL speaker, I don't entirely trust speech recognition, because it is wonky with all of our weird foreign accents (much like it's wonky with all of the fine native accents, go figure).

Just keep that in mind when this stuff inevitably gets outsourced to... wherever.

Oh and if you ship several updates in a single morning, something is very wrong. Where are the testers? Where's the review? Don't say they're even less present than usual?

Okay, so the guy in the foreground has the mask (the thing that's supposed to replace keyboards) and is using a mouse with his right hand. What's that thing next to his right thumb? Is that a keyboard? It looks like a keyboard. Doesn't it undermine the claim about replacing keyboards if the picture you use has the guy sitting with a keyboard?

[–] figjam@midwest.social 10 points 1 month ago

Why would we ever want coworkers to understand our work? I bet they document in 0 wpm.
