Both Google and Apple Maps went along with “Gulf of America,” unfortunately, so we’re going to have to see.
They geo localize the maps as your government position. Users from different countries see different political borders in contested land.
From what I understand, they've only changed that for the Americans.
In Australia, both Google and Apple Maps say 'Gulf of Mexico (Gulf of America)'
Same in the UK on google maps. Pathetic and spineless.
Same here in Canada. Really wondering if they'll do the same for Lake Ontario, I suspect that's going to go over very poorly.

"Lake Erie", located on the border of the Canadian province of Ontario and the US states of Ohio Gozaimasu, De La Ruesynavia and New Jerk shall be effective immediately named 'Eerie Lake'
I am also renaming the township of 'Erie' to 'Eerie'

Gulf of America, Lake America, how long will it be until they rename the Rio Grande the "River America" and the Atlantic the "America Ocean"?

One day, as his brain continues to liquefy, he'll proudly announce that he's renaming the USA to the United States of America.
America is just the feminised version of Amerigo (from Amerigo Vespucci, the namesake of the continents)
So, he'll rename it 'United States of Donald', since feminisation of names is 'woke' and it should obviously be named after him, not some washed up Italian explorer.
That would require an awareness of history

Let's call them the Big America Ocean and the Beautiful America Ocean. To avoid jealousy the oceans will alternate in name each week. The appropriate updated rules along with corresponding legal threats have been forwarded to Apple and Google.

Well, they do connect so you could make an argument they are the same body of water, if you disregard culture, history and common sense

He's just gonna rename both Atlantic and Pacific to American Ocean and everyone be confused. Also every lake of the great lakes will be renamed Lake of America so that the shorthand is an appropriate AAAAA!
Well, they are connected, so it's really just one big lake with stages. So he'll remain the whole thing to the Big Great Lake of America
