The White House has launched another taxpayer-funded television ad before the midterms, this time featuring imagery of President Donald Trump walking down a hall as audio plays of him saying “this is the final battle.”

“We will cast out the communist, Marxists, and fascists. We will throw off the sick political class that hates our country. We will rout the fake news media, and we will liberate America from these villains once and for all,” Trump says in the ad, echoing comments he made during a Veterans Day speech in 2023.

The Trump administration is a rabid animal that needs to be put down.

The ultra wealthy class will team up with the religious radicals to just replace them. The problem won’t be solved that way.

[–] Viking_Hippie@lemmy.dbzer0.com 19 points 1 week ago

Yeah, he's a particularly malignant tumor, but he's not the underlying cancer.

The country DOES need to remove him in order to survive, but doing so ISN'T enough.

[–] Brkdncr@lemmy.world 38 points 1 week ago (4 children)

Extends beyond Trump. Republicans in Congress are complicit.

It’s a bit terrifying how the entire country is just walking forward into this.

[–] MBech@feddit.dk 63 points 1 week ago (2 children)

Watching from the outside, I've never doubted they would. USA has always been so disgustingly patriotic, to the point of ignoring everything bad about the country in order to fuel their imagined self image as "The Greatest Country In The World". It was always going to be like this, when most of the country is that brainwashed and ignorant.

[–] Fishy@lemmy.world 23 points 1 week ago* (last edited 1 week ago) (8 children)

I think it was letterman that started his show with “from New York, the greatest city in the world” that they unreflectively cheered for years … which I think is an example of how brainwashed even the more liberal Americans have been over the last 50 years. Their entire culture has been leading to this point.

They were never the good guys.

One of the first things I learned about climate change in the 90s was the US didn’t ratify Kyoto—and Bush withdrew in 01. Never the good guys. We can go back further (Allende, Nicaragua—not the good guys there either).

But still, even many liberal leaning people, think they are the greatest. And they laughably think this is a blip.

Edit: this post definitely triggered some Americans.

[–] yakko@feddit.uk 11 points 1 week ago

There's American Exceptionalism sure, but in my experience even an unpatriotic New Yorker thinks NY is the best city in the world.

It's not the entire country. Conservatives are dragging the normal people into this. Our nation is absolutely infested with conservatives. This is what happens when we don't finish a civil war properly. We either finish Sherman's work or we suffer the consequences of humanizing pure evil.

This is undoubtedly a crime and every minion involved needs to be prosecuted and imprisoned for it once crimes are illegal again.

I suspect they're not actually interested in kicking out the fascists.

[–] 4am@lemmy.zip 26 points 1 week ago

They have convinced the moronic masses that the communists are equivalent to fascists, and they have convinced the masses that anyone not MAGA is a communist. They even started rounding up brown people, some of whom have died and/or will never see their families again. They’re builting concentration camps. AI datacenters are meant to take control over computing and the communication it enables.

This is our last chance.

Temu Hitler spams the same fascist drivel used by Real Hitler in order to seize control of the country. Backed by the rich hoping to further rape and pillage the country and those scared that if Temu Hitler loses power they’ll be held accountable.

[–] monkeyslikebananas2@lemmy.world 43 points 1 week ago

So now it’s ok to be anti-fascist? Um so if I go and say I am anti fascist, nothing will go wrong, right? Right, guys?

[–] radiofreebc@lemmy.world 34 points 1 week ago (5 children)

How is any of this legal? Why aren't Americans doing anything about it? WTF happened to you guys?

[–] cloudshouter@lemmy.zip 30 points 1 week ago (1 children)

It’s not. The people with the authority to do anything about it either won’t or can’t. You’re First Amendment rights are worth 2¢ in a trillion dollar economy. While the 2A was supposedly written to be the follow-up, it has basically the same effect.

[–] limelight79@lemmy.world 21 points 1 week ago

The Republicans in Congress could stop all of this at any time. They choose not to. They support it, even if they say otherwise.

Trump will be Trump, but we need to direct our anger at the rest of his party as well, for not holding him accountable. I hope enough people realize this in November.

Biggest self-own ever.

[–] argueswithidiots@lemmy.world 30 points 1 week ago (2 children)

I never watched the Handmaid's Tale until Trump was elected the second time. Oddly prophetic in some ways, hopefully not in others.

This is so deeply ingrained the the US culture. It's always been this way, ever since a continent was stolen and Manifest Destiny was a new thing. I mean, Hawaii is a state because it also was stolen, and a federal law prohibited the teaching of Hawaiian culture for like 50 years. If I recall correctly, it wasn't repealed until like the 90s.

Just shameful stuff, from the beginning through to today.

[–] chahn.chris@piefed.social 9 points 1 week ago

Yes, and this November I really hope people don’t allow it to turn from that into something far far worse.

Conservatism is cancer. It brings only sickness and death. This has been true throughout all human history. Nothing good has ever come from conservatism. Nothing at all.

[–] WanderWisley@lemmy.world 21 points 1 week ago (1 children)

What kinda of “final battle?” Like a battle with high cholesterol or a Mitch McConnell level of a stroke?…

[–] Yuccagnocchiyaki@lemmy.world 15 points 1 week ago (1 children)

The white supremacists believe in the coming race war, this is what the "boogaloo" community is about.

It's actually pretty scary because they have been chomping at the bit to get started and they are the only side ready to go at a moments notice and they are EXCITED TO DO SO

Anyone got a link to the propaganda video? I’m curious, but not so curious to dig it up.

It’s really a fucking shame what a group of pedophiles are doing to the USA and I don’t think their appetite will be satiated with just that one country (playing politics in Europe by the US oligarch is clue enough). Like I really am not optimistic but I hope the US gets their shit together, but maybe they can do something to stamp this shit out for themselves and the rest of us.

I used to love going to the states as a kid/teen on family trips, but don’t think I can ever bring myself to go back. I actively discourage friends and family to do the same. It’s not worth all the freedoms to end up in a box in El Salvador for making free expressive posts like this on public forums. But I don’t trust one iota that my rights would be upheld if I were targeted at a border with an illegal search of my phone.

[–] Brkdncr@lemmy.world 7 points 1 week ago

It’s basically on repeat for any nfl ad break right now.

[–] anon_8675309@lemmy.world 15 points 1 week ago

[–] pineapplelover@lemmy.dbzer0.com 15 points 1 week ago

Homie, you are the fascist

[–] SaveTheTuaHawk@lemmy.ca 15 points 1 week ago

Same bullshit that triggered the Jan. 6th insurrection. He's going to deny he lost the house.

They are detaining Canadians at the border accusing them of voting in US elections.

[–] lemmy_outta_here@lemmy.world 14 points 1 week ago (2 children)

For him, it is the final battle. He is one bad election away from jail and he is on track to lose. Decent Americans (yes, they exist) just need to show up this time.

[–] jj4211@lemmy.world 15 points 1 week ago (3 children)

Unrealistic. He is one 'bad' election away from being somewhat inconvenienced by having to just always explicitly ignore congress and do whatever he wants without repercussions. If GOP wins as few as three of the senate races that happen, he's 100% safe from the only consequence considered valid: removal from office.

No criminal prosecution, that's already established as 'not applicable' by the supreme court, on top of the long standing policy of not holding a president currently in office accountable for anything.

In 2028, ok, maybe he could face consequences in theory if all the mechanisms actually work. Very skeptical, and even if he could, it moves at a snail's pace and they'll probably run him again in 2032 because they don't have any better ideas.

why do americans just accept this?

[–] rumba@lemmy.zip 6 points 1 week ago

We should probably be in a general strike, but no one wants to fuck over their existing life on the hopes that it'll just get fixed int he next election. Check back after the midterms, but don't hope for much to change.

This is a "dog whistle" plea to Christians, in my opinion. The final battle refers to The Apocalypse, when Christians are rescued by the Army of Jesus Christ. After all of the Christians are safe, Jesus and His Holy Army will butcher every non-Christian on the face of the Earth, and the resulting ocean of blood will be as "deep as a horse's bridle". (this is clearly described in the Bible).

Fun fact: Churches pay no taxes! They get tax benefits that are over and above any "non-profit". So, we all finance and enable this tripe. Not only do we pay for this moronic ad, we shoulder the burden for churches, mosques, and temples.

These faiths are already unfathomably wealthy. The Catholic Church owns more land than any other organization, something like 170 million acres.
