Stop calling it a "crackdown"! JFC, that's the framing of fascism, and it implies there is even the slightest bit of justification for this invasion of Chicago.

Extraordinarily good point.
Failure on the part of the headline writer.
Okay dems. I'm with ya on this. So what are ya gonna do when troops start rolling in?
Let me guess.. nothing? Sounds about right. Because you are either cowards or controlled opposition.
And then you have the gall to wonder why people don't turn out to vote for you anymore.
The ones in Congress can't do anything but yell; they're a minority in both House and Senate.
Local officials can be in a position to maximize obstruction. Explicit calls for shooting the invaders are a crime, so I don't expect to see that
Thing is, Democrats won’t even do that. There will be some milquetoast consternation, they may even furrow their brows. They will lament the actions of the administration and a billion fundraising emails will be sent to octogenarian inboxes. But, they won’t get angry. They won’t rally support. They won’t shame the fascist republicans. They won’t propose legislation, even to just raise awareness. They won’t actually DO anything meaningful.
That's where you're wrong. They'll likely send a strongly worded letter!
What will you and the other non-cowards be doing?
I didn't give Trump permission to crack down on Chicago
When is the invasion of Chicago scheduled for?
The Washington Post is saying September:
The planning, which has not been previously disclosed, involves several options, including mobilizing at least a few thousand members of the National Guard as soon as September to what is the third most populous city in the United States.
The mission, if approved, would have parallels to the polarizing and legally contested operation that Trump ordered in Los Angeles in June, when he deployed 4,000 members of the California National Guard and 700 active-duty Marines despite the protests of state and local leaders. The use of thousands of active-duty troops in Chicago also has been discussed but is considered less likely at this time, said two officials who, like others interviewed, spoke on the condition of anonymity because of the sensitivity of the issue.
