  • Meta invites the moms to glossy events promoting its "Teen Account" safeguards, and the influencers then repeat the company’s talking points to their thousands of followers.
  • Many of the influencer posts include easy-to-miss disclosures or hashtags indicating they have a paid partnership with Meta.
  • TTP also identified doctors and psychologists who are touting Instagram’s Teen Accounts and have a financial relationship with Meta.
  • Despite Meta's promotion of the Teen Accounts, reports have shown that they fail to protect young users from content related to sex, drugs, and violence.
  • Some influencers are also advocating for one of Meta's top policy priorities: legislation to require the Apple and Google app stores to handle user age verification.
  • One medical influencer who was paid to post about the Teen Accounts said they had not been aware of child safety lawsuits against Meta and felt "manipulated" by the company.
  • The influencer said Meta edited the script for their Teen Accounts post and gave it an algorithmic boost, helping it rack up millions of views.

On Eve of Raul Castro Indictment, Archive Posts Declassified FAA Documents on Events Leading to Shootdown of Cuban Exile Planes
FAA Emails Foresaw “Worst Case Scenario”
“One of these days the Cubans will shoot down one of these planes”

May 19, 2026

FAA emails, memos, and communications recorded concerns among high-level Clinton administration officials that repeated penetrations of Cuban airspace would eventually lead to a crisis if Cuba acted to protect its territorial integrity from provocative BTTR incursions. “A major fear is the possible downing of a BTTR aircraft by land-based gunfire,” a summary of an August 1995 meeting with White House officials stated.

The posting comes as the U.S. Department of Justice prepares to indict Cuban leader Raul Castro for his role in the downing of the BTTR planes. At the time, General Castro served as minister of defense and was the highest officer in the military chain of command in Fidel Castro’s government. The documents offer a detailed historical context in which the aerial violence against the civilian aircraft occurred.

Study.

Heat pollution from data centers can boost air temperatures in downwind neighborhoods by as much as 4 degrees Fahrenheit, researchers at Arizona State University report in a new study conducted in the Phoenix metro area.

The ASU study is the first to directly measure air temperatures downwind and upwind of data centers to record the real-time effects of waste heat on surrounding communities.

how should the world's economy develop? what companies should be developed? how should the profit be distributed? should it be illegal for companies to make a profit at all?

(note that i think that it is generally unavoidable that some companies make some profit, the grey area on the image of the supply-demand diagram (or rather quantity-price diagram) is the profit, and that would only be zero if all companies have exactly the same production costs per unit.)

Donald Trump on Tuesday signed an executive order that requires banks to take a closer look at the citizenship of their customers, a new measure in his administration’s push to clamp down on people living in the country illegally.

The order directs bank regulators and government departments to look for signs that people without legal status are opening accounts or obtaining loans or credit cards. However, the order is less aggressive than banks had expected, as earlier reports suggested the White House was drafting an order that would make collecting customers’ citizenship information mandatory.

In the order, the White House framed the decision that banks would face credit risks if one of their customers were deported and any loans could no longer be repaid. The White House said it would not “permit risks to our financial system posed by the extension of credit or financial services to the inadmissible and removable alien population.”

In Sonora, no login is required. You can filter AI music results from YouTube and search and listen (without interruptions) by artist (YouTube Music), mood, or genre. The platform makes an auto mix. It is mainly focused on desktop use via web app, Chrome extension, or Firefox add-on. You can also use it as a PWA app on Android if you use Chrome. It works as a search platform and also as a chatbot where you can request more information about an artist or check similar artists. I use it every day and I don’t miss Spotify.

I think it’s cool if you’re looking for a free alternative with no login required and anonymous browsing, and you can find everything because it uses YouTube Music’s catalog for artists.

https://sonora.chat/

It is also a non-profit project for promoting indie artists. We are musicians and we know it is really difficult to get heard on the main streaming platforms, so the idea is to select new artists and promote them above the results of mainstream artists and genres. We also give them a PWA app for their music. The idea is to change the artists’ model, which we think is not fair. Sonora is in beta version (although it already has global recurring users every day) and we will add more features in the future. All feedback is welcome.

Some good news this morning: For anyone unfamiliar, Entropy is a white supremacist livestreaming and fundraising site, founded and run by Canadians (Chthonic Software, operating out of Tbilisi, Georgia). For more info, watch The 5th Estate's Business of Bigotry episode.

Entropy provided WS' like the GDL, Second Sons and the like with more financial stability because supporters could donate with debit/credit, so it's really fabulous that they're losing that.

Just wanted to share my feelings about the arr* stack, will keep it short !

First, thanks to all those beautiful people giving their free time to work on all thoses services ❤️ !

At first I wasn't that impressed and didn't understood all the hype arround all thoses services and only used sonarr to rename my files I had manually imported. It did a great job as a file renamer service, however I was still managing everything manually from hard links to qbittorrent organization creating in the end a total messed up file system with a lot of duplicated hardlinks and files scattered in different directories, renamed differently, etc.....

Also, after the most known french piracy tracker had been hacked and shut down (finally !), a lot of new trackers opened like wildfire and had over 10 trackers to keep an eye on. Searching the web, I came across Prowlarr and seeing how It connects directly to sonarr I got curious.

That's the exact moment when I finally unsterstood what's all the hype about the ARR stack ! My god, what an amazing piece of software stack...

First came jellyfin, sonaar, then prowlarr, radarr, seerr and now I discovered profilarr. It's amazing to see how everything perfectly communicates with each part of the stack and everything is perfeclty automated and god does it work well... I'm impressed and still baffled how something so good is free and open source !!

Im still scratching the surface of this powerfull stack, but does it feel good to just ask seerr and after a few minutes having my media perfectly organized in qbittorrent, filesystem directories, renaming scheme, hardlinks, quality profiles, config synchronization......... 💥🤯

It does have it's own quirks right and there, and can become kinda weird if you do not know what you are doing (thanks Trash guides ❤️❤️) and seeing from all the issues the arr stack seems to hit a wall with the current code implementation. But IDK, i'm not a programmer so I may be wrong here.

And there seems always something new to complement the arr stack !

So that's it :) Just wanted to share my feeling and appreciation with all of you ! Happy self-hosting !!
