- Vote based on comment quality, not agreement. This community aims to foster discussion; please reward people for putting effort into articulating their viewpoint, even if you disagree with it.
- No hate speech, slurs, celebrating death, advocating violence, or abusive language. This will result in a ban. Usernames containing racist, or inappropriate slurs will be banned without warning
We ask that the users report any comment or post that violate the rules, to use critical thinking when reading, posting or commenting. Users that post off-topic spam, advocate violence, have multiple comments or posts removed, weaponize reports or violate the code of conduct will be banned.

I get large swathes of America are racist/sexist/materialistic, but it’s unserious to think people won’t vote for her cause she’s the average height for a woman

From childhood, we absorb the idea that taller means stronger, more capable, or even more authoritative. Evolutionary psychology suggests that taller individuals were often perceived as leaders and protectors, traits that still shape modern perceptions. Studies have found that taller people are more likely to be chosen for leadership roles, earn higher salaries, and be seen as more competent.
I get it’s a psychological phenomenon and who knows how many people will subconsciously be biased about it, but there’d probably be 500 people max who would list ‘she’s too short’ as a reason for not voting for her. I just don’t think any of the reasons you listed above can’t be easily overcome by her being one of the best presidential candidates we’ve ever had. Kamala and Hillary being terrible/uninspiring candidates were by FAR bigger reasons they lost than their chromosomes or skin color
A third of democrats identify as democratic socialists, start figuring out how to court them instead of republican voters or keep losing.
2-5: I don’t care about any of that shit, and basing the candidate on it is brain dead and condescending as fuck as far as speaking to the interests of the average person right now go. Why aren’t more of you voting for him?!
Centrists will simultaneously tell you no issues matter to real voters except the economy (and maybe a few Republican coded issues) and also that those people actually care overwhelmingly about whether their representatives have a penis.

After the Romer interview with Fox News, the 1/3 number might drop. Democrats will keep losing if they can't expand beyond their base.
You don't care but others do. The goal is to win as many voters as possible. Jon Ossoff and Andy Beshear would make better Democratic presidential candidates. Beshear is governor of a red state. Ossoff is a senator from a swing state. This means they can attract voters outside the Democratic base.
Maybe figure out how to get current Democrats to show up before deciding you know how to get new blood, too. 🙄
It's inherent to the centrist brainrot that Democrats should care more about gaining Republican votes than figure out why their own voters aren't turning out. They don't want a candidate who expands the coalition with new blood in the form of young people and disillusioned city dwellers. They want to chase Republican unicorns.
Find a good candidate and voters will show up. Jon Ossoff and Andy Beshear will make good Democratic presidential candidates.
You keep asserting it, but have offered nothing to back it up. The only electable (as in, can legally be elected) Democrat more popular than AOC is ~~Bernie Sanders~~ E: forgot he's not even a Democrat, so there isn't one more popular than AOC. Beshear is even less popular.
Why do you want to run less popular candidates?
While I agree with you, I think you overestimate the depth of interest of the average American. "Swing voters" who sway each election tend to be especially more superficial than the average - they are the biggest problem.
Barrack Hussein Obama won the largest victory of any recent president. It's not the demographics that sway those superficial voters.
The existence of a swing state in a nationwide election is, itself, the problem. The electoral college needs to go. We've already dismantled the anti-democratic vision of the founders so much (people other than land owning white men above the age of 21 vote now, obviously) that it doesn't make sense to just leave some anti-democratic measures in.
He was a media relations servant in the marines. Not exactly ten-huttin' it out there. He had a single deployment. Dude probably never saw actual combat.
Passing Marine bootcamp is tough.
Hes too close to Thiel. For all we know a lump sum was paid so he could say he was a marine when he ran for office.

This is just the source I found when I googled it, not the military docs. This doesn't prove JD had a back breaking time in boot camp or was whisked away to an AC'd building. This doesn't prove he was on the front lines in his deployment or never saw combat. This doesn't really enlighten any new details.
I doubt JD Vance wins the Republican nomination.
