Its awesome how these people can just make up bullshit and never get punished on their instance.
I suppose thats a universal issue, but its still egregious.

literally every time someone is like 'woe is me the tankies got me, all i did was speak truth to power' i look at the modlog and it's them insulting people or being a reactionary

[–] sharps89@lemmy.zip -2 points 21 hours ago (1 children)

The only insult is your support of Putin and Stalin.

[–] Diva@lemmy.ml 3 points 21 hours ago* (last edited 21 hours ago) (1 children)

oh yeah i almost forgot, making up wild accusations is another thing i see in the modlogs

[–] sharps89@lemmy.zip -2 points 21 hours ago (1 children)

So we're in agreement that one should not be banned for expressing a negative opinion of the USSR?

[–] Diva@lemmy.ml 4 points 21 hours ago (1 children)

there's plenty of criticism of the USSR, Stalin, Putin in these spaces.

people who are lazily ragebaiting and accusing people of being mossad for criticism of the US prison-industrial complex do get banned though

[–] sharps89@lemmy.zip -4 points 21 hours ago (2 children)

Criticism of the USSR, Stalin, and Putin is deleted in ml instances. My deletion history proves it.

The representation was inaccurate, as 80% of the 1996 US figure quoted were on probation, not incarcerated.

It's not lazy ragebaiting to verify facts, is it?

And since you're such an expert, which Lemmy user in particular, was insulted? Why is the mere assertion that one works on behalf of an intelligence service considered an insult by a disinterested observer?

[–] BanMeFromPosting@lemmy.ml 3 points 14 hours ago* (last edited 13 hours ago)

Your deletion history proves that calling people "mossad psyops" while angrily flailing like a toddler gets you banned. The very same thread has plenty of others (attempting to) critique the Soviet Union without being banned.

This is like saying I got banned for arguing against racism on whatever instance that fucked up phrenology thread was at, while I in actuality got banned for being kind of rude.

... you realize parole is still part of the carceral state right

[–] Nonconfrontational@lemmy.ml 3 points 17 hours ago

Oh wow it's that guy lmao.

[–] sharps89@lemmy.zip -3 points 20 hours ago (1 children)

Probation is distinct from parole in the US legal system. Shall I provide you with a source to clarify the difference?

[–] Diva@lemmy.ml 6 points 20 hours ago (1 children)

typo on my part, the point is the same. both are still parts of the carceral state.

that the US has got better at managing more people through its carceral system with less visible imprisonment is not the flex that you think it is

[–] sharps89@lemmy.zip -4 points 20 hours ago (1 children)

Criticism of the US prison system is warranted but we must ensure that it is accurate, no?

It's strange to me that you think I'm flexing. Aren't we essentially arguing the same thing: that all humans have the right to live in decency?

[–] BanMeFromPosting@lemmy.ml 1 points 13 hours ago

It is accurate, you just struggle to actually read what is written.

[–] sharps89@lemmy.zip -3 points 21 hours ago (1 children)

I've been banned for stating North Korea is an authoritarian shithole. Is that bullshit, in your opinion?

[–] BanMeFromPosting@lemmy.ml 3 points 14 hours ago

Considering what shows up in the modlog about you, and how you presented the same situation, I'm quite certain you werent just some uwu smol bean who merely said a country was authoritarian. You might have more succes talking about how unreasonable moderation is on specific instances, if you actually tell the truth about what happened.
