According to Wikipedia, someone named Bill Montgomery - never heard of 'im, but then I don't travel in those circles.

[–] jballs@sh.itjust.works 42 points 1 month ago (2 children)

72 year old man founds a conservative youth organization. Talk about astroturfing.

[–] themaninblack@lemmy.world 9 points 4 weeks ago

β€œMontgomery met Kirk when the latter was 18, after hearing Kirk speak at a small college.[4]Β Montgomery has been described as Kirk's mentor, including by advising him to start Turning Point USA rather than attend college.”

Nothing weird about that at all

[–] anomnom@sh.itjust.works 5 points 4 weeks ago

72 year old Colonel Sanders cosplayer.

[–] echodot@feddit.uk 11 points 4 weeks ago* (last edited 4 weeks ago) (1 children)

These sorts of organisations always tend to be founded by rich, but not particularly persuasive individuals. They tend to find someone like Kirk to be the face of the organisation so they can reap the benefits without having to do any of the legwork.

I mean would you be interested in a random 87-year-old's political pronouncements?

I mean, really to follow the theme, a third founder would need to die as a result of not having access to abortion, not themselves be aborted.

[–] superduperenigma@lemmy.world 9 points 4 weeks ago (1 children)

The current head of Toilet Paper USA is a woman. J.D. Vance's demon spawn just needs to develop some complications in utero and the prophecy will be realized.

[–] NikkiDimes@lemmy.world 7 points 4 weeks ago

Yeah, but she'll just have an abortion in secret somewhere. The rules don't apply to them lol.

[–] jve@lemmy.world 7 points 4 weeks ago

Or die in childbirth

[–] Gerudo@lemmy.zip 34 points 1 month ago (5 children)

Oh god...it all comes full circle and in 3s.

Erika Kirk killed by future husband JD Vance in some kind of immigrant/ice kink play.

[–] Rekorse@sh.itjust.works 5 points 4 weeks ago

For it to be full circle shed have to die due to restricting abortion access, probably having JD Vance's baby.

[–] Akasazh@lemmy.world 5 points 4 weeks ago

I want aware how badly I wanted this until now

[–] fox2263@lemmy.world 4 points 4 weeks ago

I still think JD had Charlieboy killed

[–] jaschen306@sh.itjust.works 4 points 4 weeks ago (2 children)

Likely a couch was involved

... where Usha is playing the immigrant, Erica is playing bad cop, and JD is playing good cop.

The intro is JD and the casting couch.

Like, just him and couch, and its framed as if the Couch is a person, got the cuts of the 'prior to meeting' interviews, the Couch is just a couch, JD is badly acting at being enthusiastic, as he normally is.

Cut to Erica as bad cop detaining Usha as she returns to her own home. She already has the keys, so she decides to detain Usha in the sex dungeon, located under a trap door near the outdoor stone/brick pizza oven.

Finished casting the casting couch, unaware either Erica or Usha are home, JD now hungers for cheese pizza, walks over to the backyard pizza oven... notices the trapdoor ajar.

He then walks in on Erica BDSM torturing Usha. JD is equipped with all holster, no pants.

JD begins to lecture Erica on the rights of the accused, Erica refuses to cease cruel and unusual punishment, JD is forced to draw down on Erica.

But he has a Sig P320, so, in their scuffle, it does an uncommanded discharge, which domes Erica.

A 4 Act play, in only 3 Acts.

Xenasaur seems to be missing the mark

The founders died from things they were for: uncontrolled gun access and unvaccinated exposure to viruses.

Conservatives are anti-abortion, so a karmic death from that would be dying before or at childbirth because of being unable to abort.

But of course that doesn't pan out since rich conservatives always have access to abortion. The rules are for everyone else, not for them.

[–] ChanchoManco@lemmy.zip 11 points 4 weeks ago (1 children)

I think the irony could be the third founder being a pro life woman dying during an clandestine abortion.

[–] sukhmel@programming.dev 2 points 4 weeks ago* (last edited 4 weeks ago)

~~I think you're maybe digging too deep~~

Edit: no, it was my reading comprehension lacking, that's quite on point, indeed

[–] Avicenna@programming.dev 30 points 4 weeks ago

Between the Trump voter immigrants getting deported and anti vaccine people or their kids dying of preventable diseases, I don't think US ever before had any period where "it won't happen to me" was falsified so rapidly.

[–] DylanMc6@lemmy.ml 24 points 4 weeks ago (11 children)

i really hope charlie and erika kirk's children come out as lgbtq and starts a leftist equivalent to turning point usa.

in fact, is there a leftist equivalent to turning point usa?

[–] umbraroze@slrpnk.net 10 points 4 weeks ago (1 children)

a leftist equivalent to turning point usa

If there is, I hope they call it "Just Keep Going Global"

[–] DylanMc6@lemmy.ml 6 points 4 weeks ago

the name would probably be something along the lines of "the path forward"

[–] frisbird@lemmy.ml 3 points 4 weeks ago

Given that the US went through 2 wholesale leftist purges in its history and zero rightist purges, I would say that looking for an existing equivalent of any rightist phenomenon is asking a lot.

[–] DylanMc6@lemmy.ml 6 points 4 weeks ago (1 children)

i was thinking of the democratic socialists of america and other socialist/communist organizations - oh and donations from supporters. it worked for the progressive news channel freespeechtv. seriously!

[–] causepix@lemmy.ml 6 points 4 weeks ago

Sure, not saying it's impossible to secure funding. Just saying that it would pale in comparison to what billionaires are able to throw at organizations like TPUSA and you can't expect it to be at the same level or grow nearly as rapidly as a result.

Tries to imagine what an "aborted baby voice" would sound like, can only come up with the "Cryptkeeper" skeleton on helium...

[–] SinningStromgald@lemmy.world 10 points 1 month ago

I was thinking more Hellboy

[–] MonkderVierte@lemmy.zip 2 points 4 weeks ago

There's that thing in Overlord.

[–] sukhmel@programming.dev 13 points 1 month ago (10 children)

I feel like the joke doesn't really work, they are conservatives, drowning during baptism or something like that would've been more to the point

[–] pimento64@sopuli.xyz 10 points 1 month ago

"all who take the sword will perish by the sword" is pretty spot on

[–] 0x0@lemmy.dbzer0.com 8 points 1 month ago

Yeah, like an anti-seatbelt activist dying in a car crash.

Or a anti-Obamacare person dying of a common infection.

[–] ayyy@sh.itjust.works 5 points 4 weeks ago

You do realize there is a difference between the way the left and the right approaches gun ownership and pandemic responses, right?
