‘I’m like, “[Expletive] you,”’ Marjorie Taylor Greene said about receiving threats from White House officials

Marjorie Taylor Greene has come out swinging at the White House over the Trump administration’s handling of the Jeffrey Epstein sex trafficking case.

The rift between the MAGA firebrand and White House deepened after a Trump official apparently told her that her support of bipartisan legislation ordering the release of the so-called Epstein files would be viewed as a “very hostile act.”

Greene is one of four Republicans, alongside Reps. Thomas Massie, Nancy Mace and Lauren Boebert to have signed on to a discharge petition to force the release of files related to Epstein. If a discharge petition receives the signature of a majority of members, they can force a vote without the consent of leadership.

So, technically, is she a terrorist now?

[–] mhague@lemmy.world 0 points 3 hours ago

It's crazy that there's any other position.

Bernie fucking Sanders just sits there like a dumb bitch "calling Trump out." All these people pursuing "more important matters" while a systemic child raping conspiracy is allowed to turn into a circus.

And this is who we have. A handful of nutters who are the only ones "crazy" enough to care. All the other career politicians can go Kirk themselves.

By calling MGTs choice a “very hostile act”, Trump is threatening MGT with hostility. She better not be swayed by Trumps threats. She isn’t alone. Most Americans are with her on this.

[–] ameancow@lemmy.world 1 points 3 hours ago* (last edited 3 hours ago)

It's entirely kayfabe guys. Please read up on it, understand that our entire future of politics and social discourse is going to be kayfabe. The sooner we can digest and accept this fact the sooner we can use this as a tool instead of trying to "take the higher road" which our population has broadly forgotten about.

I am sad that so many progressives and leftists are not seeing this for what it is.

I hate it here.

[–] explodicle@sh.itjust.works 38 points 16 hours ago (1 children)

I am with MTG on this.

[nearly throws up a little]

[–] MangioneDontMiss@feddit.nl 11 points 16 hours ago (2 children)

It really goes to show you how fucking dumb she is though. Yeah, good, she's sticking to her principles here (that or her check hasn't come through yet), but she actually believes all the bullshit she's been peddling for these years. If she isn't corrupt, she's just a complete fucking imbecile.

[–] Cassanderer@thelemmy.club 3 points 10 hours ago (1 children)

They all are dumber than we give them credit, covid really laid that bare in some respects.

[–] MangioneDontMiss@feddit.nl 4 points 9 hours ago* (last edited 9 hours ago)

I don't share this sentiment. Not only because I don't believe they are all stupid, but because I feel it lets them off the hook. They can basically get away with anything if we say they are just stupid when, in fact, they know exactly what they are doing. I believe the vast majority of them are very intelligent, they are just greedy, corrupt, evil fucks.

[–] samus12345@sh.itjust.works 8 points 15 hours ago

She's both.

[–] Formfiller@lemmy.world 19 points 18 hours ago (2 children)

This is a really good thing because we need a maga split from within to get out of this mess

This [FPTP] is the weapon of the enemy, we do NOT (need to) USE it.

Any Condorcet method would yield a significant improvement in representation accuracy, but it would trigger one heck of a party re-alignment.

[–] MangioneDontMiss@feddit.nl 4 points 16 hours ago (1 children)

how many other high profile republicans are there aside from MTG who have broken from trump on this? I bet you can count the names on one hand.

[–] Formfiller@lemmy.world 3 points 15 hours ago* (last edited 15 hours ago) (1 children)

I’m not really talking about corrupt government officials I’m talking about the maga sheep who seem to be out there killing eachother all of a sudden. We know that they’re violent extremist but they might be waking up to the fact they were conned by pedo Don

[–] MangioneDontMiss@feddit.nl 3 points 15 hours ago

they aren't.

[–] bss03@infosec.pub 17 points 18 hours ago (2 children)

I still think she's insane, but I wish we had more progressive, D congresspersons that had this attitude of serving The People instead of the DNC.

[–] Ajen@sh.itjust.works 8 points 17 hours ago* (last edited 15 hours ago) (2 children)

Aren't the progressives all on board with forcing the files to be released?

[–] howrar@lemmy.ca 10 points 17 hours ago (1 children)

On this particular issue, yes. But I think they're talking about other things that the Democratic party supports but that are bad for their constituents.

[–] Ajen@sh.itjust.works 3 points 17 hours ago (1 children)

If we aren't just talking about this specific instance and instead we're talking about her attitude in general, is that really the attitude we want to see in progressive politicians?

[–] Cassanderer@thelemmy.club 3 points 10 hours ago

She bucked the party on war with iran, gaza, and geo engineering.

So yes, fighting against the imperial mandates of party leadership is something we should want to see in all dems, as effective as their meek acquiesance has been...

[–] bss03@infosec.pub 4 points 16 hours ago (1 children)

As far as I know yes.

But, D congresspersons rarely speak against party leadership.

[–] Ajen@sh.itjust.works 3 points 16 hours ago (1 children)

Democrats don't, but the progressives who caucus with Democrats do.

[–] bss03@infosec.pub 3 points 16 hours ago

Depends on the progressive, I'd say. But, they are certainly more willing to, so I might have been better to leave that adjective out of my comment.

[–] slaneesh_is_right@lemmy.org 0 points 11 hours ago

You think the jewish space lasers cunt is insane? What gives? The bar is really low for americans to side with someone.

[–] MangioneDontMiss@feddit.nl 6 points 16 hours ago (1 children)

well, she won't be in office for much longer. The democrats already think she's a fucking idiot and now she's angered der fuhrer.

[–] FosterMolasses@leminal.space 1 points 4 hours ago

Yep. Sold her soul to be a republican lapdog and is having a full blown "Leopards Ate My Face" moment.

[–] phoenixz@lemmy.ca 33 points 22 hours ago (3 children)

Though I hate having to support MTG, I think we actually should, just for the moment. Strange bed fellows for sure, but just try to keep it together for a minute. If she can pull enough maga away for maga and the GOP to fall to pieces, I think it's a good day for everyone

Yeah, broken clock and all that. I think she genuinely cares about protecting kids, but has an extremely warped idea of what that entails.

[–] Karjalan@lemmy.world 8 points 20 hours ago (1 children)

Also, she's one of the few in that crowd to stick to her guns and it and not flip to the party narrative.

Even if she's generally a terrible person, is doing it for shitty reasons, or hasn't done it in the past. It's actually a good thing that it's happening at right now and should be encouraged.

[–] Cassanderer@thelemmy.club 2 points 10 hours ago

The people maligning her reasons are ultimately made by those with worse motives, be it for genocide or protecting this israeli honeypot blackmail for israel.

The accusers have the worst motives and anyone that uncritically repeats them is playing you not acknowledging that.

[–] BarneyPiccolo@lemmy.today 5 points 21 hours ago

The enemy of my enemy is my friend, at least for a moment. We even allied with fucking STALIN to fight the Nazis.

So let's encourage Empty G and Boobert, and the rest of crazier-than-normal wing of MAGA in their revolt. Well-timed remarks like "Are you going to let him say that about you?" should help a lot.

[–] _stranger_@lemmy.world 7 points 17 hours ago* (last edited 17 hours ago)

I can't decide if I'll feel sorry for her or not when she gets Epstein'd or Kirk'd

Maybe the leopards will come up with something new for here when they finally fully turn on the once useful idiot.

I take it back, I won't feel sorry for her. She's just finding out that she's going to win a very stupid price from all those fascist games she's been playing.

Either she had an epiphany and saw what she is doing will end her up in prison and probably hell if it exists in her world.

Maybe she is starting to understand she is going to be held accountable in a few years and doesnt want to end up in the concentration camps they send immigrants to.

[–] Objection@lemmy.ml 5 points 17 hours ago

In what universe are any of these people going to be held accountable??

The safest route for sure is to just follow the pack and not stand out. Unless you think that the average Republican has a serious risk of ending up in prison, in which case you're more delusional than she is.

I'm old enough to remember when people (including my young and naive self) thought that the Bush administration would be held accountable for illegal torture and spying and all that. Democrats got a supermajority and didn't touch them, and even continued a lot of the shit they'd been doing. The rule of law simply doesn't apply to you if the only people who could enforce it against you are these soft, civility-obsessed careerists. It's pure cope to think otherwise.

[–] RememberTheApollo_@lemmy.world 5 points 18 hours ago

No, she wants power games and shitting on people. She’s just not ok with Trump playing power games and shitting on her. She’s a terrible person, and I’m all for a battle of idiots between her and Trump.

[–] sharkaccident@lemmy.world 2 points 18 hours ago

I listened to an interesting take on her on a podcast. Basically they think she is looking beyond Trump and the void if and when he is out of office and she is positioning herself to be the tell it how it is candidate.

[–] devolution@lemmy.world 42 points 1 day ago (1 children)

Ugh... I hate myself for supporting Jewish Space lazers trash Nazi here.
